EMFs are invisible lines of force created whenever electricity is generated or used.  EMFs are produced by power lines, electric wiring, electric equipment and appliances, as well as wireless devices, such as cell phones and computers.  The frequency of EMFs is measured in hertz (Hz, or cycles per second). People are continuously exposed to both electric and magnetic fields, but scientists are most concerned about magnetic fields.

Electric and magnetic fields naturally occur within the body and are associated with nerve and muscle activity.   We are also exposed to the natural magnetic field of the Earth, in which a magnetic compass responds to, and natural electric fields in the atmosphere. 

Natural EMFs differ from man made EMFs that have a chaotic energy and frequency that can disrupt or distort organic energy patterns.
